The lower Royal George’s Sausage Appreciation
Society is still pursuing it’s mission statement of ‘12
Gourmet’s on a mission to seek, select and savour superior
sausages’.
We have recently completed our own Supermarket
challenge where we sampled the Supermarkets own brand premium pork
sausage . The blind tatsings over a number of weeks provided a number
of surprising results from the 10 Supermarkets sampled.

The variety of sausages we find never ceases to
amaze, how does the sound of Guinea Fowl, Chicken and Black pudding
or pork and Apricot grab you! That’s not all in the same sausage
you undestand but there again…who knows.
Last year saw our annual dinner providing the delights
of Turkey and Cranberry sausage, this was preceeded by toad in the
hole and followed by Eclairs. I realise that the Eclairs were not
sausage but if you consider they are long, thin and brown with the
imagination that only the SAS can generate then they are not far
off!
